About Me

I graduated from Liverpool Polytechnic (since renamed The John Moores University) in 1986 with a degree in Fine Art. Originally, I combined a career in part time teaching with part time painting.

I was Head of Art at a further education college for 18 years and left in 2011 to continue my art and academic career. I paint and do creative work as often as I can.

I have also worked with photography, film, performance as well as painting and printmaking.

I have an MA in Screen Studies from Manchester University and I have recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Theology with the University of Wales Trinity St. David as an undergraduate part time distance learning student. In 2013, I graduated from Manchester University with an MA in Religions and Theology, with distinction. I combine this with my art background now that I am a PhD student at Manchester Metropolitan University which I began in 2017. I am researching religiously themed 19th Century painting.

In my part time teaching (and student days) I had a number of solo and group shows at:

Bridewell Studios
Liverpool Hanover Galleries
Liverpool Leo Solomon Gallery
Rochdale Philharmonic Hall
Liverpool Liverpool University
Everyman Theatre Liverpool
